High/Low Voltage Protection

Whenever AC power drops below 104 volts or rises above 132 volts, the EMS automatically shuts down power to the RV. It keeps monitoring, and once voltage returns to a safe range, the time delay counts down and power is automatically restored — protecting your gear from the brownouts and overvoltage conditions common at busy campgrounds.

Adjustable Time Delay for Your A/C Compressor

After a power interruption or detected fault, a built-in time delay protects your A/C compressor from damaging rapid cycling. The EMS offers two settings: 136 seconds (2:16) and 15 seconds. Check your air conditioner manual — if it has its own built-in delay, use the 15-second setting; if not, use the 136-second delay. (Factory setting is 15 seconds.)

5-Mode Surge Protection

The EMS-LCHW50 provides full 5-mode surge protection (L-N, L-N, L-G, L-L, and N-G) with a 3,580-joule rating, an 88,000A surge current rating, and a response time under 1 nanosecond. If the surge circuit is ever damaged protecting your rig, the display shows error code E-10 to let you know the unit needs service.

Comprehensive Fault Protection

The EMS guards against the full spectrum of electrical faults, each with its own clear error code:

• Reverse polarity — blocks power, displays E-1
• Open neutral — display stays dark, power blocked
• Open ground — blocks power, displays E-2

Informative Scrolling Display

The digital display continuously scrolls all your AC power information — voltage, current, frequency, error codes, and previous errors — with each reading shown for two seconds. The previous error code feature tells you exactly what caused a power interruption (read by putting a "P" in front of the "E" code), so you can diagnose recurring pedestal problems.
