What This Motor Does

The furnace motor is the dual-shaft drive component attached to both the blower wheel AND the combustion air wheel. When the control board sends power:

  • Motor starts operating and rotates the drive shafts
  • Blower wheel circulates heated air through the coach ductwork
  • Combustion air wheel provides intake air for the burner and vents exhaust

When the motor fails, symptoms typically include no airflow through vents, loud grinding/squealing operation, furnace shutting off shortly after ignition (safety limit trips due to no airflow), or slow blower ramp-up.
