⚠️ Important: DE vs DEL Wiring Differences

There's a critical wiring distinction between DE and DEL water heater installations that affects what this wall switch can control:

• DEL Models — The 232882 controls BOTH the gas side AND the electric side from the wall switch. Full remote functionality.
• DE Models — The 232882 controls ONLY the gas side from the wall switch. The electric side is controlled by a switch on the front panel of the water heater unit itself, NOT by this wall switch.

If you have a DE model and were expecting to control electric from this switch, that won't work — you'll need to use the water heater's front panel for electric activation.
